Globibo provides 6 levels of German language courses, based on the Common European Framework:

• A1 - German Beginner Level
• A2 - German Elementary Level
• B1 - German Intermediate Level
• B2 - German Upper-Intermediate Level
• C1 - German Advanced Level
• C2 - German Proficient Level

In some customizations of our corporate courses, those levels are split into 1-3 sub-modules (e.g. A1.1 and A1.2). Apart from the German Language Courses Curriculum that is aligned to the Common European Framework, we also offer support programs for the preparation of students attempting DSH and TestDaF tests.

German Language Learning Customization

Our specialty is course program customization; we will work with you to specify every single aspect of your German Language Learning journey. While we also offer a general program, we execute specific programs customized to all industries like financial services, automotive, healthcare, logistics, oil & gas, hospitality, etc. Those programs focus specifically on adult German language learning and how to quickly generate learning success for work or social environment. We, at Globibo, understand that for adult learning to be successful, we must incorporate the andragogy of teaching adults which is the “art and science of helping adults learn.” As such, our specially designed courses are based on the six principles of adult learning by Malcolm Knowles which are as follows:

1. Adults are internally motivated and self-directed.
2. They bring an abundance of life experiences and knowledge to the class.
3. Most adults are goal-oriented to acquire relevant and adequate knowledge from their learning.
4. Adults are relevancy-oriented, looking to benefit by relating assigned tasks in the class to their own learning goals, which will enable them to be inspired and motivated to complete all assigned tasks.
5. Adults thrive by experiential learning. Theories are important but not as important as applying theoretical concepts to real-life situations.
6. Respect is crucial in all relationships, and this applies to the relationship between adult learners and their instructors.

German Language Course Instructors

Our German Language classes are conducted by experienced native (a-language) German instructors. Especially for German, the intrinsic challenges of grammar and structures are a challenge and require the right teaching approach. Our Instructors have to pass strict criteria set by the Globibo Academic Board in regards to formal qualifications and experience. The key evaluation criteria are 1) formal qualification in teaching German, 2) experience in teaching German Language Courses and 3) native language (a-language) / cultural background. Based on those criteria all instructors are reviewed before the initial course as well as periodically after receiving customer/student feedback.

It is interesting to know that in comparison to English, German vocabulary has often multiple variations of expressing the same. Globibo German Language courses are designed with special German study materials which cover ample German vocabulary or grammar topics.

German Language Course Approach

Globibo has conceptualized GLAM as an advanced method of language acquisition and we use this method also for our German Courses. This GLAM method blends the latest knowledge in learning and teaching methods based on neuroscience with the experience of thousands of instructors and students around the world. For details on the GLAM approach, please contact us. While our German Language Courses are aligned to other German Language Proficiency Tests (e.g. German Government-related certifications), we also use the classification of CEFR to ensure consistency between the learning levels. A standard German Language Course consists of 12 lessons of 1.5-2 hours. This time alone is usually not sufficient for passing potential proficiency tests you have in mind (for such tests additional preparation lessons might be required). We do offer private and group German Language Courses. Certainly, all German Language Courses are based on Globibo's world-class Language Study Material

German Language Programs Types

Our German courses are designed to support clients from different industries and age groups.

Based on a Learning Preference Assessment, we adjust the teaching method and approach:

• Corporates' German Language Courses: For this category, we have designed a German Business communication course.
• Kids German Language Courses: We crafted a special course for kids in which they will learn the German Language and culture through games and play.
• Students' German Language Courses: Our program for students, who want to learn German for Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced levels, is customized based on the DSH and TestDaF tests
• Expatriates German Language Courses: Globibo offers bespoke German Language courses for expatriates, as well as for their families relocating to a different country. We also have spousal support and cross-cultural programs for relocation.

German Language eLearning

To accelerate German language learning, we also provide Globibo’s Link Studio for interactive eLearning modules for all German language levels. The interesting features of this Link Studio are:

• Micro modules have been developed for microlearning (i.e. learning in small learning units with short-term learning activities) for better learning retention. There is a blend of explainer videos, quizzes, and online evaluations, designed to support the learner in gaining skills and confidence speaking the German language.
• Learners take charge of their learning, and so, can plan their studies at their own pace.
• This learning channel has highly advanced virtual classroom features (e.g. interactive whiteboards and activities, recorded lessons, etc.).
• Learners will enjoy an interesting feature i.e. open learning forums, that allows them to interact whilst learning with other learners from all over the world.
