Tips for clients thinking of engaging interpreters
- Always be clear about why you need an interpreter. Will they serve any purpose beyond direct language translation? You might need someone with particular knowledge of an industry sector or someone with negotiation skills.
- Always provide as much background information as possible about the event for which you need interpreters, e.g. the topic of the event, duration, location and expectations on the interpreter.
- Plan ahead. Establish a reasonable time frame for pre-event communication between you and the interpreter to take place. You might wish to meet the interpreter before the event.
